I didn't know what they were saying to us, but it sounded like a greeting, from every chef and server there when we walked it! It was pretty cool ^^
But...Let's get to the food!
I didn't know what to order, so I let my friend take charge :) First was the Kaiso Salad ($13), and it was really cool. The waitress told us to use the romaine lettuce like giant spoons to eat the salad, but I don't know any pretty way to do that, so just tore it apart with my hands and handy chopsticks :P It consisted of green and red seaweed (which my friend reminded me the scientific names of haha, such nerds we are). Sprinkled with crushed seasame, it was a good appy, but I wanna try something else next time :P
Aburi Salmon Oshi Sushi ($14) |
Gotta finish our "snack" with dessert! Since it was a hot day, we decided to get ice cream ($4.50), I just had to try pistachio-saffron-rose ice cream, cuz the name already is awesome sounding xD My friend ordered vanilla. The display was beautiful! Although the berries were a bit sour, I enjoyed it overall. Vanilla was better than the pistachio... guess fancy names are just fancy names ^^"
All in all, this was a great experience, their food was meant for sharing, so you can definitely try more variety. There was a lot more on the menu, and featured items, maybe I'll go another time to try them! :D
