Munchie Adventure: Bay Sushi Cafe, Downtown Vancouver

Horse-drawn carriage rides!!! =D
After a pretty fun afternoon in Yaletown for the Candytown event, the group migrated to another part of downtown to shop at Dollarama =P We noticed this sushi place as we walked by, and everyone is a bit tight on cash, so this looked good for our wallets and bellies =)

I didn't realize it was a food-court style place, we had to buy from the front and then bring the food to table ourselves xD Quite a new thing for me, jokes. There were a lot of pictures on the wall, which helped me and made it hard for me as well ^^" There were no tables for 6 either ==; we had to make our own. *sigh* Then it turns out JJ doesn't like sushi. Oops. Luckily there was Korean food too xD

I ordered the Special Combo ($7.50), which included one California Roll and two each of tuna and salmon sushi. It didn't take too long for the food to be ready, which is good. I liked the California roll, it was quite fresh and the rice was well-done. Tuna wasn't too good, kinda mushy =( Salmon seemed fresh, sizes were good. I was really stuffed after this, so it did it's purpose =P

KW ordered a lot of stuff xD And shared the tempura (thank you ^^), so I tried a shrimp. The sauce was in this dinky cup though... hard to dip! Shrimp tempura was fairly good! Shrimp was fresh and batter wasn't too overwhelmingly oily. Ramen looked soggy though, perhaps not as good. He also had a BC Roll, which was made with salmon and not the typical salmon skin. He was disappointed and didn't like it very much. SW liked it though because she doesn't like skin =P

Annnd for JJ, he decided on the Bulgogi Bowl. There was a nice surprise egg on it! =) He seemed to enjoy it, not so much the miso soup though xD It was prettty big! I forgot how much it cost though, probably on the website =P

--Then I got distracted by my food and didn't snap pics of what everyone else got, it all looked decent, and they seemed to enjoy it, SW wanted more after her combo though =P

Prices were decent for a place near downtown, so I won't complain about that. Quality isn't that great, but not terrible either. I might be back. I actually got quite packed after a while, guess it was dinner time? =P
